Closing Chapters, Opening Doors: A Year of Growth, Lessons, and New Beginnings

Updated: Dec 12, 2024

As the year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on all that has happened—both the triumphs and the challenges. It’s been a whirlwind year of baking, learning, and redefining what it means to balance the different pieces of my life.

From early mornings in the kitchen prepping for festivals to evenings spent running after my little one, this year has been a constant dance between passion and priorities. And though it wasn’t always easy, every step taught me something new

Lessons From the Kitchen

This year, my baking journey pushed me in ways I hadn’t expected. From the Apple Fest to the Coffee Fest, I discovered the importance of preparation, adaptability, and celebrating the wins—big and small. While my kitchen remains my creative haven, it’s also taught me the value of planning, collaboration, and embracing imperfection.

Living With Purpose

Outside the kitchen, my personal journey took center stage. Living with Chiari malformation and navigating the recovery from decompression surgery hasn’t been easy, but it’s reshaped how I see life. It’s reminded me to savor the little moments, to prioritize my health, and to find strength in vulnerability. Sharing this part of my life feels like a step toward deeper connection—not just with others, but with myself.

New Horizons

As I look ahead to the new year, I’m excited to evolve this space into something that feels even more personal. While baking will always be a part of my story, there’s so much more I want to share—my experiences as a mom, my health journey (running and strength training have been life-changing), and the relationships that fuel my world. Life is about connection, and I hope to inspire others through these stories.

Gratitude for the Journey

To everyone who has supported me this year, thank you. Whether you’ve tried my brownies, followed my blog, or shared a kind word, your encouragement means more than I can express. This year may have been about growth and reflection, but it’s your support that makes it all possible.

As I close this chapter, I’m reminded that every ending is a new beginning. Here’s to a year of resilience, gratitude, and the courage to embrace new stories. I can’t wait to share what’s next.

Wishing you a sweet and meaningful end to your year,

Lisa
